Houten Oostrumsdijkje

Zonneweide Oostrumsdijkje will cover 16 hectares, of which 1 hectare will be made available for extra planting and biodiversity. The meadow will generate approximately 15,200 MWh of sustainable electricity annually, which is sufficient for the electricity consumption of approximately 4,300 households in the municipality. The solar meadow will thus make a substantial contribution to making the energy supply in Houten more sustainable. Statkraft works according to the Sun on Land Code of Conduct.

This means, among other things, that the aim is always to achieve more profit than just the sustainable energy that the meadow produces. The measures taken to strengthen biodiversity and nature are an example of this, but also financially benefiting local residents and financing the local event 'Loeren bij de Boeren' are intended to create a win-win situation for all involved.
